Hello everyone! Welcome back to another mixed media project. This time I created a flowery layout with a summer theme and I used a photo from my homeland as a center piece! Let’s start with the materials I used:

Materials

As always, I started with my background. I chose this lovely 12″x12″paper from the 49 and Market Island Paradise collection and then I covered it with clear gesso. I dried my page and then I added some texture, using Ranger Texture Crackle Paste. I scraped the Paste on the project with a spatula, starting from the middle of the page and moving towards the bottom and the top. Once the Paste was dry, I used the exact same method to apply colour, using Distress Paint. I have Abandoned Coral and Mermaid Lagoon on the lower part of the page and a mixture of Antique Linen and Vintage Photo on the top part of the page. In the end I also used a little bit of white gesso on top of the other colours. I wanted to have some word details, so I used the Stamperia Writings & Branch stamp with Ground Espresso Archival ink all around the page. I used Black Archival ink on the edges of the page and then I splattered my project with Black Rohrer & Klingner ink. A very good way to add black splatter is to use Black Soot Distress Paint but I have the ink on my desk, so I just use that. I dried everything and the background was done!

It was time to prepare my focal point for this project. I chose this beautiful photo of Santorini. I really love this photo because it shows a very typical view of the Greek sea, where the blue of the sea meets the blue of the sky and they just mix! I framed the photo with the „Tropical Adventure“ SnipArt Chipboards „Layered frame with seashells“. To embellish my page, I chose some sets from SnipArt Chipboards and Prima Flowers. I used the „Tropical Adventure“ SnipArt Chipboards „Corals“, „Anchors“ and „Compasses“, the „Background “ SnipArt Chipboards „Openwork circles“ and the Prima Mulberry Paper Flowers „Floral Song/Spring“, „Painted Notes/Spring“ and „Lovely Sweets/Spring“. I also used a few small blooms from the Idea-Ology Bouquet. Of course, one can not have a summer project without a few seashells. So, I added a few real seashells amongst the flowers and the chipboard pieces. As a last little bit of embellishment, I used some white and blue pearls from the Idea-Ology Droplets. These come from the Christmas set, but the colours were just perfect for my theme!

My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Small Talk sticker block. I used my pink and blue Distress Paints to colour two stripes of paper and mount the sentiment stripes on them. The sentiment says „Travel the world over to find the beautiful. Life was meant for a great adventure“. I do believe that everything related to the sea is beautiful and can be an adventure!

And that was the project for today! I really miss the sea. I am going to spend some days in a Greek island very soon and I am so happy about it! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media-Projekt. Dieses Mal habe ich ein blumiges Layout mit einem Sommerthema gemacht und ein Foto aus meiner Heimat als Herzstück verwendet! Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Wie immer habe ich mit meinem Hintergrund begonnen. Ich habe dieses schöne 12×12 Zoll Papier aus der 49 and Market Island Paradise Kollektion ausgewählt und es dann mit klarem Gesso bedeckt. Ich habe meine Seite getrocknet und dann etwas Textur mit Ranger Texture Crackle Paste hinzugefügt. Ich habe die Paste mit einem Spachtel auf das Projekt geschabt, ausgehend von der Mitte der Seite nach unten und oben. Sobald die Paste trocken war, habe ich genau die gleiche Methode verwendet, um Farbe aufzutragen, und zwar Distress Paint. Es ist Abandoned Coral und Mermaid Lagoon im unteren Teil der Seite und eine Mischung aus Antique Linen und Vintage Photo im oberen Teil der Seite. Am Ende habe ich auch ein wenig weißes Gesso über den anderen Farben verwendet. Ich wollte einige Wortdetails haben, also habe ich den Stamperia Writings & Branch-Stempel mit Ground Espresso Archival Ink rund um die Seite verwendet. Ich habe schwarze Archival Ink an den Rändern der Seite verwendet und dann mein Projekt mit schwarzer Rohrer & Klingner Tusche bespritzt. Eine sehr gute Möglichkeit, schwarze Spritzer hinzuzufügen, ist die Verwendung von Black Soot Distress Paint, aber ich habe die Tusche auf meinem Schreibtisch, also verwende ich sie einfach. Ich habe alles getrocknet und der Hintergrund war fertig!

Zeit, meinen Schwerpunkt für dieses Projekt vorzubereiten. Ich habe dieses wunderschöne Foto von Santorini ausgewählt. Ich liebe dieses Foto, weil es einen sehr typischen Blick auf das griechische Meer zeigt, wo das Blau des Meeres auf das Blau des Himmels trifft und sich einfach vermischt! Ich habe das Foto mit dem „Tropical Adventure“ SnipArt Chipboards „Layered frame with seashells“ gerahmt. Um meine Seite zu verschönern, habe ich einige Sets von SnipArt Chipboards und Prima Flowers ausgewählt. Ich habe die „Tropical Adventure“ SnipArt Chipboards „Corals“, „Anchors“ und „Compasses“, die „Background“ SnipArt Chipboards „Openwork Circles“ und die Prima Mulberry Paper Flowers „Floral Song/Spring“, „Painted Notes/Spring“ und „Lovely Sweets/Spring“ verwendet. Ich habe auch ein paar kleine Blüten aus dem Idea-Ology Bouquet verwendet. Natürlich kann ein Sommerprojekt nicht ohne ein paar Muscheln umgesetzt werden. Also habe ich zwischen den Blumen und den Chipboard Stücken ein paar echte Muscheln hinzugefügt. Als letzte kleine Verzierung habe ich einige weiße und blaue Perlen von den Idea-Ology Droplets verwendet. Diese stammen aus dem Weihnachtsset, aber die Farben waren einfach perfekt für mein Thema!

Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Small Talk-Aufkleberblock von Idea-Ology. Ich habe meine rosa und blauen Distress Paints verwendet, um zwei Papierstreifen zu färben und die Streifen mit dem Sentiment darauf anzubringen. Darauf steht „Reise um die Welt, um das Schöne zu finden. Das Leben war für ein großes Abenteuer gedacht.“ Ich glaube, dass alles, was mit dem Meer zu tun hat, schön ist und ein Abenteuer sein kann!

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Ich vermisse das Meer sehr. Ich werde demnächst ein paar Tage auf einer griechischen Insel verbringen und bin so glücklich darüber!
