Hello everyone! Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today’s project, I prepared a funny little tag. I wanted to play with colours and the contrast of different moods. Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I worked on a Ranger Craft Tag. I started by cutting a panel of watercolour paper just a little smaller than my Tag. To colour this panel, I used a reverse ink smooshing technique. I applied the ink on my pallet, thinned it with water and then I used an acetate sheet to pick up the ink and transfer it to the paper. I used Distress Oxide inks in coloures Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade and Salty Ocean. After all the colour had been transferred, I dried my panel and then I used my scissors to distress the edges. I darkened the edges with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink and then I attached the coloured panel on my Tag. I wanted some text details on my project, so I used the script stamp from the Tim Holtz ‘The Poinsettia’ stamp set with Jet Black Archival ink and I stamped all over my project. Then I used the Argyle Layering stencil with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink to add a little pattern. I also used the same ink to darken the edges of the Tag. And with that, my background was done!

Time to prepare my images! I used the Sizzix Funky Insects Thinlits set to cut an insect and I coloured the pieces with Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. My second image is a cat. I used one of the cat images from the Tim Holtz ‘Snarky Cat’ stamp set and I coloured it with alcohol markers. Here is where I played with the different moods. This project has really bright and dark colours mixed together on the background. The images work in the same way. The insect has the bright colours and the cat is quite dark. I really wanted to create this contrast. I attached the images on my Tag and I added some shadows all around them, using Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink and a stiff brush.

My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Small Talk Snarky Sticker Book. I prepared a stripe of paper coloured with the same colours as my background and I attached the white sentiment stripe on it. Then I smudged some Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink on it and darkened the edges. The sentiment says: “It’s a beautiful day to leave me alone.” Do you ever have one of those days when everyone is bright and happy and loud and you just want everyone to disappear and leave you in peace? That is exactly what I was thinking when I made this project! As a last little bit of embellishment, I wanted to add some little dots to show the way the insect flew. So, I made some dots, using White Opal Liquid Pearls.

And that was the project for today! I enjoy working with these snarky cats! I find them very funny. And I believe that they show a side of us that we do not really allow others to see so often. Because, let’s be honest, we all have days in which we want everyone to leave us alone, don’t we? I really hope you like today’s project! I hope you got inspired! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Für das heutige Projekt habe ich ein lustiges kleines Etikett vorbereitet. Ich wollte mit Farben und dem Kontrast verschiedener Stimmungen spielen. Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Für dieses Projekt habe ich an einem Ranger Craft Tag gearbeitet. Ich habe damit begonnen, ein Stück Aquarellpapier auszuschneiden, das etwas kleiner als mein Tag war. Um dieses Stück zu färben, habe ich eine umgekehrte Tinten Smooshing Technik verwendet. Ich habe die Tinte auf meine Palette aufgetragen, sie mit Wasser verdünnt und die Tinte dann mit einem Acetatblatt aufgenommen und sie auf das Papier übertragen. Ich habe Distress Oxide Tinten in den Farben Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade und Salty Ocean verwendet. Nachdem die gesamte Farbe übertragen worden war, habe ich mein Stück getrocknet und dann die Kanten mit meiner Schere bearbeitet. Ich habe die Kanten mit Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Tinte verdunkelt und dann das farbige Stück an meinem Tag befestigt. Ich wollte einige Textdetails auf meinem Projekt, also habe ich den Skriptstempel aus dem Tim Holtz-Stempelset „The Poinsettia“ mit Jet Black Archival-Tinte verwendet und mein gesamtes Projekt abgestempelt. Dann habe ich die Argyle Layering Schablone mit Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Tinte verwendet, um ein kleines Muster hinzuzufügen. Ich habe die gleiche Tinte auch verwendet, um die Ränder des Etiketts abzudunkeln. Und damit war mein Hintergrund fertig!

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten! Ich habe das Sizzix Funky Insects Thinlits Set verwendet, um ein Insekt auszuschneiden und habe die Teile mit Abandoned Coral , Squeezed Lemonade und Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Tinten ausgemalt. Mein zweites Bild ist eine Katze. Ich habe eines der Katzenbilder aus dem „Snarky Cat“ Stempelset von Tim Holtz verwendet und es mit Alkoholmarkern ausgemalt. Hier habe ich mit den verschiedenen Stimmungen gespielt. Bei diesem Projekt wurden im Hintergrund wirklich helle und dunkle Farben miteinander vermischt. Die Bilder funktionieren auf die gleiche Weise. Das Insekt hat die hellen Farben und die Katze ist recht dunkel. Ich wollte unbedingt diesen Kontrast erzeugen. Ich habe die Bilder an meinem Etikett befestigt und rundherum Schatten hinzugefügt, mit Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Tinte und einem steifen Pinsel.

Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Small Talk Snarky Sticker Book. Ich habe einen Streifen Papier in den gleichen Farben wie meinen Hintergrund vorbereitet und den weißen Spruchstreifen darauf angebracht. Dann habe ich etwas Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Tinte darauf geschmiert und die Ränder abgedunkelt. Der Spruch lautet: „Es ist ein schöner Tag, um mich in Ruhe zu lassen.“ Habt ihr auch schon mal einen dieser Tage erlebt, an denen alle fröhlich und glücklich und laut sind und ihr einfach nur wollt, dass alle verschwinden und euch in Ruhe lassen? Genau das habe ich mir gedacht, als ich dieses Projekt in Angriff nahm! Als letzte kleine Verzierung wollte ich noch ein paar kleine Punkte hinzufügen, um zu zeigen, wie das Insekt geflogen ist. Also habe ich ein paar Punkte mit White Opal Liquid Pearls gemacht.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Ich liebe mit diesen frechen Katzen zu arbeiten! Ich finde sie sehr lustig. Und ich glaube, dass sie eine Seite von uns zeigen, die wir anderen nicht so oft zeigen. Denn, seien wir mal ehrlich, wir alle haben Tage, an denen wir uns wünschen, dass uns alle in Ruhe lassen, nicht wahr? Ich hoffe sehr, dass euch das Projekt gefällt!
